Learning Hindi

What an exciting journey I began this past weekend learning Hindi with a young man named Akash from ITalki. He lives in Thailand. His native language is Hindi and originally he is from India. He is an extremely bright and smart young man. He had received entry into the University of Alberta. He was unable to also receive a student loan so he could not go. In the United States, he received entry into the University of Ohio. In England, he received entry into Leeds. In Australia, he received entry into the University of Melbourne! He is living in Thailand this year with a focus on making money so he can continue with his schooling. It is the first time that he has taught at all. He is delightful, as he sits there fussing with the technology. He will often get impatient over even a five-minute delay of something working. He is teaching me a lot. Already, I have learned some key Hindi greetings, how to count to twenty, vocabulary words such as picture and book, days of the week, days of the month, weather words, and more. He provides me with a lot of opportunities to speak Hindi. He also shared with me special information about Hindi culture. He sent me some fabulous YouTube videos of Hindi music that is popular because of Bollywood. I love these videos!
